• Transportation survey: Liberty Central School District has emailed a form to all district families asking them to update their information regarding transportation for the 2026-27 school year.  Forms must be filled out by June 30. If you have not received the form, please call the Business Office at 845-292-6171.
  • Registration: There are open slots available for the 2026-27 pre-kindergarten class, and a lottery will not take place. Remaining seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Kindergarten registration is also now open. Find more information about registration for the programs here.
  • Construction update: Construction work has begun on the maintenance building. The walkway behind the district office from Winthrop Avenue to the high school is closed until further notice. Also, the athletic field and track area is no longer accessible to the public.  The area will be closed as construction continues. The soccer, baseball and softball fields remain open.

Liberty athletics to wrap up year with signings, awards

The Liberty Athletics Department has plenty to celebrate in the coming weeks.

Five seniors will sign their letters of intent to compete at the college level. The ceremonies will take place at 4 p.m. June 8 in the High School Gym. Signing will be:

  • Shawn Bickham, who will attend Utica University and will wrestle and complete on the track and field team
  • Brooke Bull, who will attend the University of Lynchburg and will compete in the track and field team.
  • Justin Simon, who will attend Western Connecticut State University and play baseball
  • Isabella Wagner, who will attend Eastern University and will wrestle
  • Angie Wheeler, who will attend SUNY Delhi and play softball

Later that week will be the “Block L Athletic Awards,” the annual varsity sports recognition event. It will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 11, in the high school auditorium. Family and friends are welcome to attend the ceremony.

“Being a varsity athlete is more than just playing a sport—it is a commitment to excellence in all aspects of student life that deserves to be recognized,” Athletic Director Thomas Zehner said. “We look forward to seeing you there to acknowledge our student-athletes.”
