Technology

The vision of the Liberty Central School District’s technology department is to enhance the learning success of each student through an integrated instructional approach to the use of technology.

We believe that all students will demonstrate information literacy through the ability to use instructional technology to access, analyze, and communicate information and the ability to use the tool of technology to build success across all curriculum areas.

The district’s technology plan represents a continuing long-term commitment to providing current resources and training for students and staff to excel technologically in the 21st century. The plan provides a framework for consistent improvement in the areas of instruction, business management, and administration consistent with the district’s vision and goals.

Parents’ Bill of Rights for Data Privacy and Security

The district is committed to ensuring student privacy in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and district policies. To this end and pursuant to U.S. Department of Education regulations, the district is providing a Parents’ Bill of Rights for Data Privacy and Security.

Third-Party Contracts

The increasing availability of online teaching and learning resources comes with concerns regarding student data, privacy, and student work. As a district, we have a responsibility to ensure that students’ data and privacy are adequately protected while using online digital resources for schoolwork.

Parents/guardians, eligible students, principals, teachers, and district employees can request information about third-party contractors.

Technology Plan

The Liberty Central School District’s Instructional Technology Plan serves as a strategic roadmap to ensure equitable digital access, integrating a 1:1 Chromebook initiative, internet hotspots, and updated infrastructure to support both in-person and remote learning. It focuses on elevating student engagement and digital literacy through continuous staff professional development and robust cybersecurity measures.

Technology Device Handbook

The Liberty Central School District (LCSD) views the use of electronic resources as central to the delivery of its educational program and expects that all students will use electronic resources as an essential part of their learning experiences. The Liberty Central School District maintains an environment that promotes ethical and responsible conduct in all electronic resource activities. With this privilege and extraordinary opportunity to explore resources, there are responsibilities for both the parent/guardian and the student.

Cellphones, Electronic Devices

Students must remain internet-enabled device-free, outside of school-provided equipment, during the school day, with few exceptions. Students and parents/guardians may contact each other via email or by phone in the main office of their school during the day.
