Committed to Student Success
The Liberty Central School District is committed to ensuring every student receives high-quality instruction, meaningful support, and opportunities to succeed. During the 2026–2027 school year, the district will focus on strengthening teaching practices, increasing collaboration among educators, supporting student well-being, and creating positive connections between students, families, and schools.
Focus 1: Strengthening Teacher Learning and Collaboration
What We Are Doing
The district will strengthen Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) by providing teachers with dedicated collaboration time, resources, and professional learning opportunities.
Through PLCs, educators will work together to:
- Review student learning data.
- Identify student needs and areas for additional support.
- Share effective instructional strategies.
- Develop common assessments to measure student progress.
- Create more consistent learning experiences across classrooms.
The district will also provide ongoing training and support for PLC leaders to help teams use data effectively and make informed decisions that improve student learning.
The district will review grading and homework practices to ensure assignments are meaningful, aligned to learning standards, and support student independence.

Students will benefit from:

- Lessons designed to meet their learning needs.
- Additional support when challenges arise.
- Clear expectations for academic success.
District Goal
Increase student achievement in English Language Arts and Math while reducing course failures by providing students with the support needed to succeed.
Focus 2: Provide High-Quality Tier 1 Instruction
What We Are Doing
The district will continue strengthening classroom instruction by providing teachers and school leaders with training, support, and feedback focused on effective teaching practices.
Administrators will use a consistent classroom walkthrough process to recognize strengths, provide feedback, and support continued instructional growth.
The district will focus on practices that include:
- Clear learning objectives and expectations.
- Explicit teaching and modeling of skills.
- Opportunities for students to practice and apply learning.
- Instruction designed to support the needs of all learners.
How This Benefits Students
Students will experience classrooms where:
- Learning is challenging, engaging, and meaningful.
- Instruction is aligned to grade-level standards.
- Teachers use assessment information to adjust instruction.
- All students have access to learning opportunities that support growth.
District Goal
Ensure every student receives consistent, high-quality instruction that promotes academic achievement and growth.
Focus 3: Ensure Every Student Thrives
What We Are Doing
The district will strengthen systems that identify and support students’ academic, social, and emotional needs.
Staff will use data systems and communication tools to:
- Monitor student progress.
- Identify students who may need additional support.
- Connect students and families with resources.
- Strengthen communication between schools and families.
The district will continue improving student support systems to ensure teams can respond quickly and provide the right support at the right time.

- Earlier identification of student needs.
- Coordinated support from school teams.
- Improved communication about progress and resources.
- Additional assistance for students facing academic, social, or emotional challenges.

Focus 4: Attendance Improvements
What We Are Doing
The district will implement a consistent, supportive attendance framework across all schools focused on prevention, partnership, and student connection.
Schools will:
- Establish clear attendance expectations.
- Communicate regularly with families.
- Identify and address barriers to attendance.
- Partner with families to provide support.
- Help students successfully transition back to school after extended absences.
ParentSquare will continue to support communication between schools and families.

Regular attendance helps students:
- Stay connected to learning.
- Build relationships with teachers and peers.
- Develop positive academic habits.
- Increase opportunities for success.
Families will receive timely communication and support when attendance concerns arise.
District Goal
Reduce chronic absenteeism by creating a welcoming environment where every student feels connected, supported, and ready to learn.
Working Together for Student Success
Student success depends on a strong partnership between educators, students, families, and the Liberty community. Through stronger instruction, collaboration, student support, and family engagement, LCSD will continue building systems that help every student reach their full potential.

Teachers responsible for teaching each identified subgroup: Teachers provided feedback through meetings, surveys, and focus groups. Their input on instructional needs, student challenges, and resource gaps informed district goals, professional development priorities, and targeted strategies to improve student outcomes.

Parents with children from each identified subgroup: Parents shared feedback through forums and parent engagement sessions. Their perspectives on academic support, communication, and family engagement helped shape strategies and supports included in the DCIP.

Students (Secondary Schools): Students participated in focus groups, student council discussions, and surveys. Feedback on learning experiences, sense of belonging, and access to support informed student-centered initiatives and equity-focused actions within the DCIP.
