• Please note: There will be no afterschool programs at Liberty Middle and High schools, including Boys and Girls Club at the Middle School, on Friday, Oct. 31, because of electrical work taking place under the capital project. The varsity football game at Spackenkill High School will take place and programs at the elementary school will continue as normal. There will be no late buses district-wide that day.
  • Notice: Starting Oct. 1 and lasting five to six weeks, there may be a delay in drop off of late bus riders on the route that includes county Route 72 , also known as Lt. J.G. Brender Highway, because of a road closure.
  • Under construction: The athletic field and track area is no longer accessible to the public.  The area will be closed as construction continues. The soccer fields remain open.
  • Update: A portion of the Elementary Ballfield remains closed for public use. Please respect the signage and barriers in place.

Scholarships

Every dollar is important, so do not overlook scholarships provided by employers, unions, churches and service groups with which you are associated. All  applications have a deadline and most require the submission of specific documents, such as a transcript and an essay, so read the directions closely.

Applications are also available in the LHS Guidance Office.

For those who plan on attending a SUNY or CUNY school and whose family income is less than $125,000 per year can qualify for free tuition. For more details and how to apply for the Excelsior Scholarship, visit the program page.


The Elk’s Most Valuable Student Scholarship

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is an organization that works to improve the lives of children and veterans. We give away many scholarships every year to high school seniors who qualify. Their families DO NOT have to be Elks in order to get scholarships.

National Honor Society Scholarship

Since 1946, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) has awarded more than $30 million in scholarships to outstanding NHS seniors. This year, we are awarding $2 million in scholarships to 600 students. Each year, scholarship recipients are selected based on their demonstration of the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.

The Hagan Scholarships

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides $2,000 to help pay for essential items to attend college and up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Hagan Scholars have attended 745 colleges and universities located in 50 states and the District of Columbia and have studied abroad in 58 countries.  The Hagan Graduate Scholarships are for Hagan Scholars who have graduated college while in the Hagan Scholarship Program and are good for up to four additional semesters in college, providing up to $7,500 each semester to attend graduate school or the first two years of a professional program.

Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation Scholarship

The purpose of the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation Scholarship is to assist students who have been affected by breast cancer in some way to achieve their college aspirations. Breast cancer can take a terrible toll on a family by taking a loved one, draining financial resources and creating emotional challenges. This scholarship is awarded to help graduating seniors and eligible college students who have been affected by breast cancer in a meaningful way and who have turned those challenges into positive action. Multiple awards are available

Jean DeGrace Crandall Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was set up as a memorial to Jean DeGrace Crandall, educator and friend to the migrant community. She worked as a Tutor Advocate for the Mid-Hudson Migrant Education Outreach Program (MEOP), a folklorist for the Dutchess County Arts Council and was the owner/operator of La Mula Chula in Rhinebeck, a store featuring fair-trade Mexican folk art, which she imported herself. An annual scholarship will be awarded for post-secondary assistance to a migrant farmworker or child of a migrant farmworker (with a preference for those from Mexico) with a history of migration to Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, or Westchester Counties in New York State.
