Dear Liberty High School Community:
I’m excited to now call Liberty High School my professional home and personal home! I look forward to further integrating myself into the greater Liberty area. As the principal, I believe building relationships and communicating with parents, students, and community members is an integral part of a successful learning community. My goal is for all parents to be a partner in the process of educating their children.
I grew up in Livingston Manor, where my family has roots dating back before the turn of the twentieth century. After graduating from Livingston Manor Central Schools, I attended and graduated from Sullivan County Community College. I then moved on to SUNY Cortland where I completed my studies in Physical Education. Subsequently, I was fortunate to gain employment teaching at Sullivan County BOCES. While teaching, I also coached football, baseball, and weightlifting club at Liberty High School. Additionally while teaching, I pursued graduate work in Physical Education from Emporia State University and then a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Leadership from SUNY New Paltz. I then spent seven years at the Tri-Valley Secondary School as Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics, and Assistant Principal. To broaden my leadership skills I spent the last two years as the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Wallkill Senior High School. My wife, Jamie, and I moved to the Liberty area in 2006. We have two daughters, Juliana, 9 and Alicia, 6.
I’m dedicated to a safe and student-centered learning environment where student learning and achievement is emphasized through a collaborative process with the entire learning community. My experiences thus far have afforded me the opportunity to work in collaboration with all stakeholder groups to strengthen bright spots, initiate change and sustain growth. I look forward to building and growing relationships with the entire Liberty community in order to meet the goals of the District.
I consider myself to be a technologically integrated person, both professionally and personally. I plan on being the lead communicator and will frequently use Twitter and Instagram to communicate updates, promote learning experiences, and showcase achievements. My new account username for both accounts is LibertyHS_NY.
I would like to invite you to the following meet and greet opportunities with me.
- July 12 – from 8-10 a.m. in the High School Main Office
- August 28 – from 6-7 p.m. in the High School Library Media Center
I’m very excited for the upcoming school year and I hope to meet with all of you soon. Please feel free to stop by or reach out and share the positive qualities of Liberty High School.
