Two Liberty High School staff members test positive for COVID-19  |  No interruption in instruction

Earlier today, Jan. 25, a Liberty High School staff member was sent home as a precautionary measure upon notification that the person had been in contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19.

In addition, the district learned that a High School staff member currently in quarantine has tested positive for COVID-19.

Our thoughts are with the individuals who have tested positive and we wish them a speedy recovery. Privacy laws restrict the disclosure of personally identifiable information of anyone who has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Staff members and parents and guardians of students who may be at risk for exposure to COVID-19 are individually notified by a building principal, administrator or school nurse. Contact tracers from Sullivan County Public Health Services also reach out to people at risk for contracting the coronavirus and advise them of what steps to take.

Liberty High School remains open as scheduled.
