5 p.m.: Varsity softball vs. James I. O’Neill at James I O’Neill High School
Results: O’Neill 25, Liberty 1. Another tough game for Liberty as the Indians could not overcome a 16-run outburst in the bottom of the first inning. Results: O’Neill 14, Liberty 0 (5 innings) The Varsity traveled to O’Neill for the second time this week to get our game in as the fields in Sullivan County continue to be saturated and unplayable. We were technically the home team for this matchup, and we were happy to be on the field and out of the gym. Brynn Marks and Jovana Jackson each reached base 4 times to lead O’Neill to an easy 14-0 victory over the Varsity in an OCIAA Division IV League match-up Friday night. Lauren Farrier pitched a 5IP, 2-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and no walks for the win. Megan Schmidt tripled and Arianna Wilson singled in the loss for Liberty.
