Season Summary from Coach Caro
With more than half the team comprised of absolute beginners, our focus this season has been more on building a team from the ground up, than besting our previous’ year record; we only had two returning players from last year.
Individually our girls have experienced some success with freshman Madison Green recording her first win in an impressive 3 set win over Tri-Valley/Fallsburg: 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 in only her second match of her life.
Leydi Gonzalez, our #1 singles players has two wins under her belt; first win against Tri-Valley/Fallsburg 7-5, 6-4 and 7-5, 6-2 against Port Jervis.
Double teams Julia Johnson and Paola Ponce are awaiting a rematch against TriValley/Fallsburg to decide the outcome of their first match up, which was called due to darkness and had them up a set and 4-all in the second.
We hope to keep improving on our fundamentals and scoring additional individual wins throughout the season.
