Softball

Liberty 15, Burke 9

The Lady Indians scored a huge divisional win in a game against Burke played at “The Yard” in Warwick.  Liberty held a 9-1 lead until Burke tied it in the bottom of the 6th at 9-9. The resilient Lady Indians scored 6 runs in the top of the 7th spurred by a 2-run double by Gabby Magie giving Liberty a 15-9 win. Kelsey Morgans had a bases clearing triple in the second inning to go along with two singles and three runs scored.  Yanira Wilson scored three times in her Varsity debut. Brooke Nichols also scored three times while Jerikah Fleischman drove in 5 runs.
The team’s record improves to 3-1 in the division and 7-4 overall.

Boys Spring Track

The Liberty Boys Spring Track team traveled to Monticello for a league meet. Liberty lost to a very deep and talented team but several Indians had good performances.

Lucas Carrion won the long jump with Kymanni Denis placing second. Jake Lesczynski won the pole vault improving his personal best by 2 feet! Jake was also third in the 400 hurdles. Troy Willis took second in 100, 200 and 400. Rayshawn Reynolds was second in high jump and third in the 100. Miguel Campos was second in the 800 and third in the 1600. Jose Luna was second in triple jump improving his season’s best by almost two feet! Francisco Miguel was second in shot put and third in discus. Rich Jandik was second in discus and third in shot put. John Nolan was third in the 110 high hurdles. Wayne Kratz was third in the 400.

Girls Spring Track

The Girls Varsity Track team produced some excellent results in their dual meet at Monticello.

Alyssa Kavleski won the 100 and 200. Brooke Roth won triple jump and was second in 100 hurdles and long jump. Brianna Roth won pole vault and was second in 400 hurdles, triple jump, and high jump. Ally Roth was second in the 1500 and the 800 and 3rd in high jump. Eleisha Graves was second in shot put and discus. Chloe Ricco was 3rd in the 400 and Alexandra Riley was 3rd in the 3000.

Many girls set personal bests in the meet.

Softball

Liberty 14, O’Neill 5

Gabby Magie’s grand slam in the bottom of the 6th inning helped to break open what was a tie game and key a 9-run inning as Liberty went on to defeat O’Neill in an OCIAA Division IV game.  With the win, Liberty (4-1 division, 8-4 overall) clinched a sectional birth.  Gabby went 4-4 with 6 runs batted in.  Brooke Nichols had 2 singles, 3 walks and 4 runs scored out of the lead-off spot.  Kelsey Morgans had a bases clearing triple to go along with 3 runs scored while Jerikah Fleischman had 2 hits and 2 runs driven in.

Boys Golf

LIberty 276 Sullivan West 296 TriValley 300

The Boys Golf clinched the league championship beating Sullivan West and Tri-Valley. Gavin Racette led the way with a 48.  The Indians captured the league championship and ended their league season UNDEFEATED! 

Girls Golf

Sullivan West 161 TriValley 189 Liberty 189

The Girls Golf team participated in a match at the Villa Roma on a par 35 course. Liberty lost to TV in a tiebreaker. Corrine Hellerer shot a team low 52. Emma Dworesky came in with a score of 67. Emily Lutz shot a 70.

Liberty 20  Fallsburg 2

Liberty used a 10-run inning to spur the Indians to a 20-2 victory over Fallsburg at Liberty.  Kelsey Morgans went 2-2 with a HR, single and 3 RBI to help lead the offense.  Katy Decker and Rebecca Philips each had a double.  Brooke Nichols and Kylie Bachman each had 3 runs scored. Liberty improves to 5-1 (Div IV) and 9-4 overall.

Girls Golf

Fallsburg 172 Liberty 178

The Girls Golf team participated in a match at home at the Swan Lake CC on a par 36 course. Corrine Hellerer shot a team low 49. Emma Dworesky came in with a score of 63 scoring a birdie on the 11th hole. Emily Lutz shot a 66 which was her best round of the year.
