Three elementary students test positive for COVID-19 | LES remains open as scheduled

The district has learned that several Liberty Elementary School students have tested positive for COVID-19. The school remains open as scheduled.

  • A student who attends school on a fully-remote schedule tested positive for COVID-19 on April 10. Health officials determined that there was no risk of transmission to students or staff at LES and no contact tracing was necessary.
  • A student who attends school in person tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.
  • A student who was last in school March 16 has tested positive for COVID-19. 

Our thoughts are with the individuals who tested positive and we wish them a speedy recovery. Privacy laws restrict the disclosure of personally identifiable information of anyone who has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Individuals who may be at risk for exposure to COVID-19 have been notified by a building administrator or school nurse. Sullivan County Public Health Services also reaches out to people at risk for contracting the coronavirus and advises them of what steps to take.
