New Athletic Director appointed

On Tuesday, July 30, the Board of Education appointed a new Athletic Director, Peter Bianco. Mr. Bianco will serve the Liberty Central School District as the Athletic Director, a physical education teacher and the Director of Physical Education and Health.

Mr. Bianco spent the last five years at York Prep in Manhattan as the Athletic Director, head of the Physical Education Department, a teacher and a coach. He was appointed the President of the Independent Schools Athletic League in 2017. Mr. Bianco is also Certified Athletic Administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.

Mr. Bianco’s love for athletics drove him to seek employment in the field after college. He worked his way up the ranks at the Parisi Speed School, where he eventually became the training director. Later, he accepted a position at the East Harlem School at Exodus House as the Athletic Director, a physical education teacher, and a coach for soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. He is also certified by the American Sport Education Program as a Youth Coach and is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

He conducted his undergraduate studies at Springfield College where he obtained a degree in Physical Education with a minor in Athletic Coaching. He also played on the men’s soccer team. His passion for athletics resulted in his obtaining a Master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Ohio University.

Peter and his wife Meagan live in Highland, NY. They are the proud parents of a son, Luke, born in December 2018. He likes to spend his free time cooking, playing golf and attending sporting events.
