Mr. Mark Mongiardo appointed new AD

The Board of Education appointed Mr. Mark Mongiardo to the position of Physical Education teacher and athletic director at a special board of education meeting on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. Mr. Mongiardo. He will begin his duties as athletic director on Thursday, July 26 and will be in the District most days.

Mr. Mongiardo taught Physical Education in New Jersey for thirteen years. He also taught the Learning Enrichment Activities Program (LEAP) Intramurals for fifth grade students from 2007-2018.

Mr. Mongiardo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland (’04) and a Master of Exercise Science, Coaching and Sport Administration degree from Montclair State University in 2010.

Mr. Mongiardo is a graduate of Shenendehowa High School.  He has extensive experience as a player a coach. He walked onto the SUNY Cortland baseball team as a catcher. He has served as the Varsity Baseball Coach at New Milford High School (NJ) since 2010. In 2018, his last year at New Milford, his team won the first League Title in ten years. Mr. Mongiardo was awarded Coach of the Year for his efforts. He also served as the Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach at New Milford. Mr. Mongiardo was the Head Coach for the North Jersey Eagles of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, one of eight NCAA-sanctioned collegiate summer baseball leagues in the United States. The league is funded by Major League Baseball. The team is based in Upper Saddle River, NJ at Professional Baseball Instruction (PBI)  and won back- to-back ACBL Championships in 2012 and 2013.

Mr. Mongiardo enjoys spending time with his wife Gina, daughter Giavanna and son Marco.
