The Liberty Middle School will be on an all remote schedule Monday, Dec. 7 through Wednesday, Dec. 9.
The district learned Friday evening that a Liberty Middle School staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, it is anticipated that as many as nine staff members who were in close contact with that individual will be required to quarantine as per Health Department protocols, leaving the middle school unable to adequately staff the building for in-person instruction.
The middle school will reopen for in-person instruction on Thursday, Dec. 10.
All staff members and the parents and guardians of students who may have been in close contact with the individual who tested positive have been contacted by a district administrator. Those staff members, parents and guardians will additionally be contacted by contact tracers from Sullivan County Public Health Service and advised what steps to take.
Privacy laws restrict us from identifying anyone who has tested positive for the coronavirus.
