OK, so maybe Liberty Performing Arts’ production of “Beauty and the Beast” can’t compete with the box office returns of the live-action Disney movie now playing in theaters (and breaking sales records) nationwide. But what Liberty’s version lacks in Hollywood glitz, glamor and high-grossing receipts, it more than makes up for with real, live, authentic performances by students whose faces you already know by heart.
Come be our guests as LPA presents the classic French fairy tale as this year’s spring musical, first at 7 p.m. Friday, March 24, and then again in a family-friendly matinee at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25, in Panebaker Auditorium. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.
Watch more than 60 of Liberty’s own bright stars from the middle and high school tell a tale as old as time, as Belle (Olivia Racette) and the Beast (Cascio Fonseca) learn how true love transcends appearances.
(Warning: The show’s special effects include the use of strobe lights.)
