Liberty Public Library announces new online summer reading

This year summer reading has gotten easier, more fun and is now online.  Register today at for your child’s free online account and start logging the minutes that they read.  The more they read, the more they unlock learning games and celebrity-led storytelling which can be accessed right from your homes!  The theme this year is “A Universe of Stories” with an emphasis on outer space. The program is available for pre-k through twelfth grade with various incentives and certificates of completion for different age-levels.
Elementary students who complete the online reading program will be invited to attend a special “Out of this World” party on the first Friday school is back in session in the Fall, complete with free books and moon-pies.  Check the flyer at our website for more details.  Sign-up began June 5. Students have until August 23 to complete their summer reading and missions.
Remember that Liberty Public Library is currently in a temporary location at 111 Sullivan Ave, Suite 1-3, Ferndale, NY 12734 (across from the Ferndale Post Office).  There will be no fines assessed on children’s or young adult books or movies during the summer reading program, so come and stock up on plenty of reading materials to help your children keep their brains engaged while out of school and prevent the “summer slide.”
