Liberty Library trustees election Thurs., May 26

On Thursday, May 26 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., the library will hold its
annual election of library trustees for the 2016 – 2017 fiscal year
beginning July 1.

There is one open position on the Board of Trustees of the
Liberty Public Library. Incumbent, Karen Kaner is the only
candidate running for election to this position for a 5-year term.

The Board of Trustees of the Liberty Public Library have opted not
to increase taxes for operational revenue this year, therefore
this year’s tax appropriation will remain at the 2015-2016 amount,
$374,000.

Any resident of the Liberty Central School District (LCSD) who is
currently registered to vote in the LCSD elections, or who has
voted in any of the last four school or general elections, is
already registered to vote in the library election.

Only residents new to the Liberty Central School District, who
would like to vote in the library election, need to register at
the Liberty Central School Business Office, during office hours up
to and including May 19, 2016.

More details are available at the library or on the library’s
website at http://www.libertypubliclibrary.org. For more
information, please contact the library at (845)292-6070.
