The district learned today, Jan. 11, that a Liberty High School staff member has tested positive for COVID-19.The individual was last on campus on Dec. 23.
Privacy laws restrict the disclosure or confirmation of personally identifiable information and we cannot identify anyone who has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Staff members and parents and guardians of students who may have been in close contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 are individually notified by a building principal, administrator or school nurse. Contact tracers from Sullivan County Public Health Services also reach out to people at risk for contracting the coronavirus and advise them of what steps to take.
Our thoughts are with the individual who has tested positive and we wish them a speedy recovery.
The health and safety of our students and staff is always our first priority, and we will continue to keep you informed when a person of the school community tests positive for the COVID-19. Notifications are posted on the district website and sent directly to Liberty staff and families.
