LHS Student Tests Positive for COVID-19

The district has learned that a Liberty High School student has tested positive for COVID-19.

The student was last on campus March 3. Staff members and parents and guardians of students who may be at risk for exposure to COVID-19 have been individually notified by a building principal, administrator or school nurse. Contact tracers from Sullivan County Public Health Services also reach out to people at risk for contracting the coronavirus and advise them of what steps to take.

Liberty High School remains open as scheduled. (Please note that the elementary, middle and high schools will be on a fully remote schedule March 10 and March 11, as previously announced.)

Our thoughts are with the individual who tested positive and we wish them a speedy recovery. Privacy laws restrict the disclosure of personally identifiable information of anyone who has tested positive for the coronavirus.

For more information about our health and safety procedures please reach out to your building principal. Questions about COVID-19 should be directed to your healthcare provider or Sullivan County Public Health Services at 845-292-5910.
