LES student tests positive for COVID-19 | No risk of transmission to others

The district has learned that a Liberty Elementary School student who was last on campus Feb. 3 has tested positive for COVID-19.

Sullivan County Public Health officials have determined that the student was not contagious for the coronavirus until Feb. 4, the day after the student last attended class in person, and no contact tracing is required by the school.

Our thoughts are with the student who tested positive and we wish them a speedy recovery. Privacy laws restrict the disclosure of personally identifiable information of anyone who has tested positive for the coronavirus.
