From Principal Adams | Office hours, supports and resources

January 29, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

I hope you and your families are all well. In a few short days, we will be concluding the first half of the 2020-2021 school year. As we navigate through these unprecedented times, we’re continuing to remain flexible and persistent to the needs of our students.

Currently, the academic expectations set forth by the New York State (NYS) Education Department and Board of Regents remain unchanged, including the administration of the NYS Regents exams. Although we recognize that the COVID-19 pandemic is ever evolving, our goal is to provide the support necessary for our students to grow academically and emotionally.

This letter includes two attachments. One is a list of open office hours that our guidance department and administrative teams are beginning to provide for any student who would like to stop in and express their successes, concerns or ask questions. The second is a list of community supports for mental health and counseling that can be accessed by parents/guardians. Our school counselors can assist with accessing these services or choosing which service providers are most appropriate.

As a reminder Mrs. White (kwhite@libertyk12.org) is the counselor for students who have last names that begin in A-F, Ms. Hazen (mhazen@libertyk12.org) for letters G-O, and Ms. Nikolis (mnikolis@libertyk12.org) for letters P-Z. They can also be reached by calling the school phone number and dialing extension 2006 or 2011 during school hours.

Thank you for your continued patience and support. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

Stay safe, and healthy.

All the Best,

Derek Adams
Principal
