Liberty Central School District’s Food Service Director Dara Smith was formally recognized for its commitment to health and wellness in Sullivan County at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County’s Annual Meeting on Dec. 5.
We know that good nutrition, exercise, and general health and wellness play a critical role in students’ ability to come to school ready to learn. Ms. Smith and the rest of our food services staff are shining examples of this commitment to student heath. She’s helped bring us new kitchen equipment, free breakfast and lunch, salad bars and grants. And she’s only getting started! There’s much more in store in terms of health and wellness at Liberty. Her wellness policy will contribute to more alert and involved students, a school culture of health and activity, and students ready and eager to learn
