District mourns Shannon Cross Stein, long-time staff member and friend

It is with great sadness that the district has learned of the passing of our colleague and friend Shannon Cross Stein, and we join her family in mourning,

Mrs. Stein attended Liberty Schools and was the district’s longest-serving staff member, dedicating her career – more than three decades – to our students. Her first job in the district was in August 1988, when she was hired as a leave replacement stenographer. She went on to be a typist, teaching assistant, substitute coordinator, fitness room supervisor and class advisor. She most recently served as the district’s technical data specialist and will be remembered by countless co-workers, families and students.

If you or your child need someone to talk to, district counselors, social workers, and administrators are available. Support centers continue to be available at the elementary, middle and high schools for our staff members.

Please reach out; they are always there for you:
