Along with other area high schools, Liberty High School is participating in College Application Week, Nov. 17-21. The purpose of this statewide, week-long event is to have teachers and advisors help seniors get through the sometimes daunting application process.
Throughout the week, many high schools across the state will host events to assist students with the college application process. Liberty High School will participate in the College Application Week effort, with the goal that all members of Liberty’s senior class apply to at least one two-year or four-year technical, certificate, college or university program this fall.
The overarching goal of New York College Application Week is to provide an opportunity for all New York seniors to complete and file college applications. To us, college means any education program beyond high school including certificate programs, two-year degree programs, and four-year degree programs.
Liberty High School is encouraging all seniors to take advantage of the following resources during College Application Week:
- The Guidance Office will be open in the evening until 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 17-19. Any student/family member who would like an evening appointment should call 292-5400 x2011 to schedule.
- Wednesday, Nov. 19: Higher Education Awareness Day, aka Heads Up Day: faculty and staff will share their experiences and students will complete a “College Experiences” bingo game.
- Thursday, November 20th, Parent Teacher Conferences will be held at Liberty Middle and High School. There, the Guidance Office will have a display table of college materials and resources.
Students and families with questions can contact Linda Argentati at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (845) 292-5400 X2006. More information about the initiative and the college application process is available online at http://www.gocollegeny.org/apply.
