The effort to find a new superintendent for the Liberty Central School District is moving along. We would like to thank our faculty, staff, students, parents and community members for participating in the survey and letting us know what characteristics you would like to see in our next leader.
Board of Education members at their Oct. 30 meeting formally established the characteristics they will look for in the district’s next top administrator. Those traits – gleaned from interviews with faculty and staff, an online survey that went sent to parents, students and community members and two meetings held last month – now appear in a brochure that was produced by search consultants from the Western New York Educational Service Council (WNYESC.)
A note about the search process:
This is a confidential search process. The names of the applicants will be known only to the members of the Liberty Central School District Board of Education with the exception of the successful finalist after she/he has signed the initial contract. The consultant will carry out the task of screening applicants and recommending to the Board a group of potential semi-finalists. Candidates must not contact board members directly. The Liberty Board of Education will make all decisions concerning the selection process, the evaluation of candidates and the final appointment. The first round of interviews with the Board are scheduled for Jan 30 and 31, 2018. The interviews will be held in the early evening, beginning at 5 p.m. The second round of interviews with the Board of Education will be held over three evenings on February 5, 6 and 7, 2018.
