LCS Jazz Festival a Huge Success
The Liberty Central School Department of Music hosted the 9th Annual LIBERTY JAZZ FESTIVAL, on February 5, 2005 at 7:00 PM in the Middle School gymnasium. The festival featured the High School jazz ensembles from Liberty and Sullivan West and the Middle School Jazz Ensembles from Liberty and Monticello. The students had the opportunity to participate in an afternoon clinic with a renowned jazz artist and trumpeter Chris Persad. MUSIC CARD Fundraiser
Blitz Ends
Winners announced!
Congratulation to this year's winners of the MUSICCARD Fundraiser Blitz. Samantha Light is this year's top seller as she (with a little help from Dad) sold 70 cards. Samantha is a 7th grader who plays the Alto Saxophone. She is a two time winner of the blitz as she also was the top seller last year. Samantha will receive $1.00 for every card ($70.00) that she sold during the blitz. Congratulation to Samantha and to all the band members for their participation.
The entire band is to be commended as there were over 400 cards sold during the blitz. The top 10 card sellers will be picking out of a money bag as their prize. They are Kevin Norris, Billy Sheehan, Joe Franke, Shareema Branch, Josh DeCarlo, Jonathan Ramirez and Kelli Schrader. Of particular note is that Kevin Norris gave Samantha a run for the money as he sold 64 cards. Congratulations and thanks to all the students who made the effort to go out and sell the cards.
Students may continue to sell cards and will earn a free card for every ten that they sell. The card provides opportunities to receive discounts at local businesses and national chains for the next year. Purchase the Liberty Indian Music Card from any Middle School band member. Get discounts from the Trading Post, Cobblers, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and more! Donation is $10 and proceeds go to the LCS Music Department.
We have set a goal to sell 800 music cards by the end of the year. Incentives have been setup as follows:
1 Free Gold Card will be give for every 10 cards sold
OVERALL - If the entire band reaches the goal of 800 cards sold, more prizes will come.
