Meet Your Teacher
Hello! Let me tell you all of things you never wanted to know, but were afraid to ask me not to tell. Here's a little biographical info that I like to call "A little biographical info."
I was born in Poughkeepsie, NY during the last ice age. I have lived, and gone to school in New York, Oregon, New Mexico, and Alabama, so I have a bit of knowledge about the different regions of the U.S. This really comes in handy when I teach about cultural differences. (Just ask me about the first time I saw a burrito!)
I graduated from Robert E. Lee High School (Go Generals!!) in Montgomery, Alabama, and decided to go right into the field of work. I have had many different jobs including baker, book binder, and Corrections Officer. It wasn't until my late 20's that I decided to be a teacher. (Poor kids!)
So, how did I get here? I attended Dutchess County Community College for my A.A., SUNY New Paltz for my B.A, and NYIT for my M.S. I now have as many letters after my last name as I have in it!! Yee Haa!!! Now I have a masters in instructional technology, and I enjoy using the computer to design lessons and worksheets. We may even do a webquest or two.
Let's talk hobbies! I love to read anything I can get my hands on, especially the Red Wall series, books by Dean Koontz, Robert Ludlum, and Tom Clancy. I also enjoy watching the History Channel (of course) as well as the Science Channel, and re-runs of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. (Salem cracks me up!)
In 1999, I began working here in Liberty and I fell in love with Sullivan County. I now live here with my 15 year old rather dim witted cat. (Yes, I am a big fan of cats!!)
In January of 2006, I became a member of the White Sulphur Springs Volunteer Fire Department. It's my way of giving back to the community that I have grown to love. I have found it to be a very rewarding experience. I can honestly say I have never met a better group of people than those I have the pleasure of working with here in Sullivan County.
