There are many different ways to enter and edit HTML pages and JavaScript scripts. The Notepad that is part of Windows can be used. However, it lacks many features that make programming easier and more enjoyable. There are hundreds of free editors available. Which one you choose is up to you. Some are smaller, quicker and use less disk space and memory. Others offer many more features. A list of these programs and links to their websites can be found on the
Useful Programs page. Some of these programs are as good as or better than very expensive commercial programs. You may download these directly from the company's site. Be sure they are totally free and not trials. Some files may require an "unzipping" program like
JustZipIt. Some may require a free registration so that the author knows how many people are using the program.
