Derek Adams tabbed for HS Principal

Mr. Derek Adams has been appointed as the new Liberty HS Principal

The Liberty Central School District Board of Education is pleased to announce Mr. Derek Adams as the next principal of Liberty High School, effective July 1, 2018. Mr. Adams was appointed at the Liberty Board of Education meeting on Thursday, May 31. Mr. Adams comes to Liberty from the Walkill Central School District where he spent the last two years as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Walkill Senior High School. Mr. Adams comes to the district with 14 years of experience in education.

Mr. Adams is no stranger to Sullivan County having grown up in Livingston Manor. He is a graduate of Livingston Manor High School and Sullivan County Community College. He attended SUNY Cortland and after graduating began teaching Physical Education at Sullivan County BOCES. During this time, Mr. Adams coached football, baseball and the  weightlifting club (Fit Club) at Liberty High School. He decided to pursue opportunities in administration serving as Assistant Principal and Director of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics at Tri-Valley Secondary School. To expand his leadership skills and gain experience, he accepted his most recent position at Wallkill Senior High School.

Mr. Adams lives in Liberty with his wife, Jamie and daughters, Juliana and Alicia.
