tabs box bottom border

The Catskill Mountainkeeper Farmers’ Market in Liberty will be open to the public every Friday evening, beginning June 9.

Catskill Mountainkeeper Farmers' Markets in Liberty and Monticello aim to promote local, sustainable agriculture, increased consumer awareness and access to healthy foods, while enhancing the value of our communities and economic opportunities for farmers, small businesses and artisans.

The Liberty Farmers' Market will be open every Friday from 3-6 p.m. from June 9 through Sept. 29 at Creekside Park, 91 S. Main St. behind Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation.

The Monticello Farmers’ Market will be open every Monday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. from June 12 through Sept. 18 in front of the Government Center, 10 Jefferson St.

The Liberty and Monticello Farmers Markets are approved for the ‘Farmers Market Nutrition Program’ (FMNP), the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Vegetables and Fruit Program and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formally EBT) benefits.

These initiatives provide eligible recipients with vouchers that can be used for the purchase of fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from approved farmers' markets around New York. The purpose of these programs is both to increase the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables among low income, disadvantaged residents, including seniors and women, infants and children, as well as to increase awareness within the recipient community about the availability and benefits of fresh, local food.
