Spirit Week and Pride Weekend to take place Sept. 26-Oct. 1

Liberty Middle and High School is getting ready for Spirit Week and Pride Weekend. Six days of fun, activities and athletic events are set for Monday, Sept. 26 through Saturday, Oct. 1.

Liberty High students will also choose the members of the 2016 homecoming court. Nominations and voting are being held this week. Students can place their votes for king and queen in the cafeteria during their lunch periods.

Students may purchase tickets for the Oct. 15 homecoming dance during lunches for $6 per person. Parents are invited to watch the announcement of the homecoming court at the Oct. 1 football game against Dover.

During Spirit Week and Pride Weekend, all students and staff showcase their pride in their school, student-athletes and community. Activities include sporting events, a pep rally and the homecoming dance. A complete list of activities can be found below:

Monday, Sept. 26:
• Sports Jersey Day at Liberty Middle School and Liberty High School
• Tennis: Liberty vs. Fallsburg at Liberty High School at 4 p.m.
• JV Football: Liberty vs. Sullivan West at Liberty High School at 4 p.m.
• Modified Boys Soccer: Liberty vs. Tri-Valley at Liberty Elementary School at 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 27:
• Twin Tuesday at Liberty Middle School
• Hippie Day at Liberty High School

Wednesday, Sept. 28:
• Wacky Wednesday at Liberty Middle School
• Hat Day at Liberty High School
• JV Girls Soccer: Liberty vs. Tri-Valley at Liberty High School at 4 p.m.
• Modified Football: Liberty vs. Tri-Valley at Liberty High School at 4:15 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 29:
• Super Hero Day at Liberty Middle School
• Class Color Day at Liberty High School (staff and faculty wear pink; seniors wear purple; juniors wear orange; sophomores wear green; and freshmen wear blue)
• Modified Volleyball: Liberty vs. West Point at Liberty High School at 4:30 p.m.
• Varsity Boys Soccer: Liberty vs. Fallsburg at Liberty High School at 4:30 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 30:
• Red and White Day at Liberty Middle School and Liberty High School
• Pep Rally at 2 p.m. in the Liberty High School gymnasium
• JV Girls Soccer: Liberty vs. Port Jervis at Liberty High School at 4 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 1:
• Varsity Boys Soccer: Liberty vs. Monticello at Liberty High School at 1 p.m.
• Varsity Football: Liberty vs. Dover at Liberty High School at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 15:
• Homecoming Dance in the Liberty High School cafeteria at 7:30 p.m.
