The Liberty Central School District Music Department will host the 21st Annual Liberty Jazz Festival on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. in the middle school’s gymnasium. The festival will feature middle and high school jazz ensembles from Liberty and Monticello. The snow date will be Feb. 5.

year’s clinician will be Mr. Alec Dube. Honored as Jazz Vibraphonist of the year for 2015 and 2016 by Jazz Buffalo, Alec Dube is a musician, composer and educator in the Western New York area. He has shared the stage with many renowned jazz artists such as Arturo Sandoval, Bruce Johnstone, Bobby Militello, and Helen Sung. Alec maintains a busy schedule performing as a leader and sideman in a number of groups. His newest project, Critical Mass, is a testament to his exploration of modern jazz music, and improvisation. Alec holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, as well as a Master’s degree in Performance from the State University of New York at Fredonia. He joined the faculty at Fredonia in January of 2016, where he has held the position of "Instructor of Jazz Vibraphone". We are excited to have such a talented young musician work with our students.
