LCSD to induct Mr. Maurice Greenberg to the Wall of Fame

Mr. Maurice Greenberg will be inducted to the Wall of Fame in June 2015.Alumni Maurice Greenberg will be the 2015 inductee to the Liberty Central School District Wall of Fame this June.

 Mr. Greenberg will join 18 fellow inductees who were selected since the Wall of Fame’s inception in 2011.

Mr. Greenberg is an entrepreneur, business executive and former chairman and CEO of American International Group (AIG), which was the world's 18th largest public company and its largest insurance and financial services corporation.

Following high school, Greenberg served in the U. S. Army in Europe during World War II, participating in the Liberation of Dachau, and in the Korean War, rising to the rank of captain. He is also a recipient of the Bronze Star.

Mr. Greenberg is currently chairman and CEO of C.V. Starr & Co., Inc., a diversified financial services firm. In June 2014, Greenberg was named the most connected business executive in New York by Crain's New York Business.

Mr. Greenberg will be honored at a breakfast reception on Saturday, June 27, 2015, which is also graduation day for seniors.

The Wall of Fame is located in the lobby of the David E. Panebaker Auditorium at Liberty High School, and plaques honoring the inductees will be mounted there. Additional information about the honorees and the Wall of Fame will be available on the Liberty Web site,

The Wall of Fame was created and developed in 2011 by the Liberty Board of Education as a way to honor highly successful Liberty Central School District alumni, past employees and community members who have made a lasting and outstanding contribution to the Liberty Central School District and to the Liberty community. Inductees are selected by a committee consisting of community stakeholders, Board of Education members, faculty and alumni.

Nominations will be accepted for the 2016 class beginning later this summer, and will be accepted and considered on a yearly basis.
