A great way to learn more about the college admission process!

Are you aware of what courses are recommended for college bound students? Does the word “FAFSA” raise your eyebrows? Do you know what scholarship/financial aid opportunities are out there for your child, and where to find them? Do you realize how important your role is in college planning? College is an exciting milestone in a student’s life, but the process can sometimes be a little intimidating. No need to worry, we are here to guide you through this most important and wonderful journey.

The Sullivan County Counselor’s Association has organized a college-planning program for parents and students in grades 8 through 11 called “The Future Starts Now”. It will be held on Tuesday, March 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the Seelig Theatre at Sullivan County Community College. Registration will take place from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Students and parents or guardians will sign up for specific workshops that evening on a first come, first served basis, so please arrive early. There will be number of experts on college admissions, financial aid, military alternatives and much more who will provide valuable information related to the college planning process. The evening will benefit all students regardless of their present grade level.

Click here for a description of the program. This includes a panel of admissions personnel and a number of 30 minute workshops on a variety of college topics. We encourage parents and students to divide themselves among the workshops to gather the most information possible.
