Nine works by six LHS art students will be featured at national juried high school photography exhibit

February 26, 2014…Congratulations to LHS students Summer Bitjeman, Trae Serrano, Andrew Davis, Sierra Thomas, Paula Doty and Gladys Diaz, who were selected to participate in Exposure 2014, a national juried high school photography exhibition being held the Mill Street Loft in Poughkeepsie.

Nine pieces created by LHS students were chosen for the exhibit, four of which are pieces submitted by Andrew Davis.

"We have never had this many pieces gain entry,” said and LHS Art Teacher Kathy Lambert. “It is quite an accomplishment for these students. We look forward to attending the show."

A number of cash and other prizes will be awarded to participants who “demonstrate exceptional ability, originality, mastery of the medium and/or creativity as determined by the jury of professional photographers,” according to the Mill Street Loft website.

“Being an included part of 'Exposure' is a recognition of being an artist," explained Liberty Senior Gladys Diaz. "It allows us the opportunity to see how other students across the Mid Hudson express themselves."

The 11th annual Exposure National High School Photography Exhibition will be on display from March 15-April 11 at the Mill Street Loft (45 Pershing Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY 12601).

The opening night reception will be held at the Mill Street Loft on Saturday, March 15 from 5-7 p.m.
