Liberty High School hosts "Teens and Technology" Workshop on Sept.
21

Danish Computer Scientist Bjarne
Stroustrup once said “There’s an old story about the person who
wished his computer were as easy to use as his telephone. That
wish has come true, since I no longer know how to use my
telephone.”
Technology can be daunting, and if you have teenagers, keeping up
can be difficult. We hope you’ll join us for a very special
workshop: Teens and Technology. The event is free, open to the
public and will take place on Wednesday, September 21 at Liberty
High School.
Do the security settings in Facebook and other social media
applications confuse you? Would you like to know more about the
role of technology on your child’s education? Are you concerned
that your teen might be cyber-bullied? The workshop can answer
these questions and more.
Presented by Art Schouten from Orange Ulster BOCES, the workshop
will highlight student use of technology as it relates to social
media applications, networking with peers and the impact of
technology on student learning.
Other topics to be discussed include digital privacy and security
settings for social media applications, the impact and signs of
cyber bullying and how technology can be used to foster
learning/collaboration.
This event is sponsored by Sullivan County BOCES in collaboration
with Liberty Central School District and Orange-Ulster BOCES.
