Students get a truly hands-on experience

For some, the thought of being in the same room with snakes is enough to evoke panic, but not for Liberty second-graders!

On November 4, second grade students at Liberty Elementary  School were visited by professional snake handler Jerry  Hillard of Snakeman's Snake Shows.

The “Snakeman” brought 15-20 snakes from around the world
and taught the students about their characteristics, habitats and habits.

Students were able to get up close and even touch and hold some of the tamer snakes. The program tied in nicely with  their study of reptiles and other animal groups and was generously funded by a donation from the Celebrate Success Committee.
