The Liberty Central School District honored the inaugural members of the Liberty Wall of Fame and their families with a breakfast reception and unveiling ceremony on Saturday, June 25th. The Wall of Fame was established to honor outstanding Liberty alumni and employees as well as community members who have made a lasting contribution to society, the district and the Liberty community.
The inductees
together with family and friends gathered for a breakfast
reception at the new Liberty High School Media Center and then
proceeded to the David E. Panebaker Auditorium lobby for the unveiling
of the new Wall of Fame. Inductees were also recognized by
Superintendent Michael B. Vanyo at the
Class of 2011 graduation ceremony, which took place that morning at
10 a.m. in the Robert VanSlyke Gymnasium.
“I am the person I am today because of Liberty," said Inductee
Howard K. Schue (Class of 1959). "It gave me the foundation for all
that I have accomplished in my life, and for that I am extremely
grateful."
