Linda Etess and her husband Harvey at the Sullivan County School Boards Association annual dinner and awards ceremony. Mrs. Etess received the "Outstanding Friends of Education" award from the SCSBA.
Congratulations to
Liberty’s Linda Etess for receiving the “Outstanding Friends to
Education” award from the Sullivan County School Boards Association
at the annual dinner and awards ceremony held on May 25th at the
Rockland House in Roscoe.
Mrs. Etess was nominated by the Liberty Board of Education for her
volunteer work with the children of the district. Mrs. Etess has
been active in the leadership of the P.T.A., both locally and on a
state level, and has worked closely with Liberty High School
students as a volunteer advisor for a program she founded called
Team-89.
“Receiving the award was a complete surprise,” said Mrs. Etess.
“Everyone kept it a secret until that evening. It was overwhelming
and thrilling and I am so honored.”
Mrs. Etess will be retiring after 39 years of service to the
district. She began her career in 1972 in the position of senior
stenographer/administrative assistant to the superintendent. She has
worked with ten superintendents during her years at Liberty.
In addition, Mrs. Etess was honored with other county-wide school
board clerks at the dinner. She has served as the District Clerk for
the Liberty’s Board of Education for the past 17 years.
Liberty Board of Education member John Milano was also honored as a
retiring board member for his nine years of service to the district.
Best wishes, Mrs. Etess and Mr. Milano! You will certainly be missed
at LCSD!
