
On Tuesday May 17th, not only can you perform your civic duty by voting on the annual LCSD budget, but you can be well fed, support a great cause, support our outstanding student musicians, hear a fabulous concert, and learn about the Liberty fall youth sports programs and activities.
Here’s a list of times and
events taking place on May 17:
Noon – 9 p.m.: Annual LCSD Budget Vote. Budget
information is available

and voters will also be asked to select three candidates to serve on
the Liberty Board of Education as well as vote on the establishment
of a capital reserve fund (information about the capital reserve
fund available
HERE).
Voter registration deadline is Thursday, May 12, and unregistered residents may register between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Liberty Central School District Office at 115 Buckley Street. Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen, a district resident for 30 days or more, at least 18 years of age by May 17, and registered to vote by May 12, 2011. Voting location: Liberty High School gymnasium.
5:15 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.: Annual Liberty Faculty Association
Spaghetti & Meatball Dinner. The dinner was started in 1970
as a fund-raiser after the death of a well-loved custodian whose son
was a student at Liberty. The faculty pledged to make sure that
George Hutchinson’s son would be able to go to college, and the
George Hutchinson Scholarship Fund was created. As of 2010, the LFA
has donated $249,350 in scholarships to deserving LHS graduates.
A delicious meal, cooked and served by Liberty students and faculty
that features Paul Gatta’s secret family meatball recipe, it is a
meal that will fill you up – heart, soul and stomach. Tickets are
available in advance by calling Michele Clark at 845-292-5400 or
emailing mclark@libertyk12.org. Tickets will also be available at
the door. Adults $8; Seniors/Students $5; Children (under 5) $3, at
the Liberty High School cafeteria.
5 p.m. – 7 p.m.: Fall Youth Sports Carnival. Learn
about and sign up for fall youth sports and activities for students
in grades 1-6. This includes football, cheerleading and more.
Students need not be present. Sign up will be in the high school
gymnasium lobby.
7 p.m.: Liberty High School Concert – Part II.
Enjoy the talented student musicians spring performance – it’s free
and it’s fabulous. Performing will be the orchestra, mixed chorus,
symphonic band and jazz ensemble. David E. Panebaker Auditorium,
