Liberty Middle School Students and National Junior Honor Society inductees pose with board of education members, advisors, administrators and Principal Mary Greynolds, who established the NJHS at Liberty Middle School in 2003.
Altogether, 53 Liberty students were inducted into the National
Honor Society this March and April in two different ceremonies. 34
seventh and eighth graders were inducted into the National Junior
Honor Society and 19 Liberty High School students were inducted into
the National Honor Society.
Membership to both National and Junior National Honor Societies is
considered based on a number of criteria including leadership
qualities, personal character and by maintaining a minimum GPA - 88
percent for Junior Honor Society candidates and 90 percent for
National Honor Society.
Throughout the year, the Liberty Honor Societies initiate and
participate in community service-related projects. Most projects
focus on fundraising for local organizations who serve those in need
within the school district area. “It is a privilege to be an advisor
to these students,” says National Honor Society Advisor Louis
Spataro. “They all give 100 percent, and I look forward to working
with them on their service projects in the coming year.”
