The Liberty Central School District announces
three 3-year positions on the Board of Education are up for election
this year. Nominating petitions for candidates are now available,
and must be filed with the District Clerk by Monday, April 18, 2011,
between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m..
The top three candidates with the highest amount of votes will fill
the three positions. The candidate with the most votes over-all will
start his/her term on May 18, 2011, in order to serve out the board
seat vacated by Michael McGuire, and filled by appointee Anthony
Covington. The other two highest vote-getters will begin serving on
July 1, 2011.
Candidates for office are required to obtain a nominating petition
from District Clerk, Linda Etess and the form must be signed by 25
qualified voters of the district.
Qualifications for candidates are:
- Must be able to read and write
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Must be and have been a resident of the district for a continuous and uninterrupted period of at least one year immediately before the election.
- May not have been removed from any school district office within the preceding year
- May not reside with another member of the same school board as a member of the same family
- May not be a current employee of the school board
- May not simultaneously hold another
incompatible public office.

District Clerk at the Liberty Central School Administration Building
