Three snow days left for Liberty means mid-winder break not compromised

tabs box bottom border

According to a letter written by Superintendent Michael B. Vanyo and sent home to parents on Wednesday, February 16, Liberty still has THREE snow days remaining. The letter also stated that mid-winter break will occur as scheduled from February 18-22.

Should a fourth snow day be needed, the first day to be taken back would be Monday, April 18, which is the first day of spring recess. Should five days be needed, April 19 would be the next to go. This will delay the start of spring recess, but would be necessary if the weather warrants it.

Liberty also recently instituted a three-hour delay policy in addition to the already established two-hour delay. When a three-hour delay is called, school cafeterias will be open and lunch will be served to students according to each building's schedule. In the event of ANY delay, morning Pre-K will be cancelled.

A longer delay to the start of the school day during certain weather situations would eliminate the loss of an entire day of instruction. It would also allow road crews and highway departments more time to safely clear roadways.

For more information, please contact the building principals.
